We know that deciding to get a cosmetic tattoo is a big step, and it’s completely normal to have a lot of questions. Curiosity and even a little hesitation are part of the process.

Cosmetic Tattoo

Cosmetic tattoos typically last 1–3 years. Longevity depends on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and pigment retention. A color boost (refresh) is usually recommended every 12–18 months.

Yes, a touch-up/perfecting session is mandatory and is usually scheduled 6–8 weeks after the initial appointment. This session addresses pigment loss and finalizes the shape and color.

Initial (surface) healing takes about 7–14 days (peeling/flaking). Full color stabilization takes 4–8 weeks. The color will appear dark initially, then very light, before finally settling.

Topical numbing cream is used before and during the procedure to minimize discomfort. Most clients report feeling some pressure or minor scratching, but the pain is generally manageable.

Oily skin, frequent sun exposure, anti-aging skincare (Retinols, Glycolic Acid), and poor aftercare can cause the pigment to fade faster.

Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo

Microblading uses a handheld blade for natural hair-like strokes. Powder/Ombre Brows use a machine to create a soft, shaded, or gradient look, often lasting longer on oily skin.

For the first 7–10 days, you should keep your brows dry, only following the gentle, light cleaning method specifically directed by your artist. Avoid direct water pressure and steam.

Yes, but Powder Brows are usually recommended for oily skin types, as the machine work holds pigment better and prevents strokes from blurring over time.

Eyeliner Cosmetic Tattoo

No. Your eyes will be closed, and specialized numbing creams are applied to the lash line area. The procedure is done on the upper layers of the skin, not near the eyeball.

You must remove contact lenses during the procedure. You can typically wear them again 48 hours (2 days) after the procedure, or as advised by your artist.

Avoid all eye makeup (mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow) for at least 10–14 days to prevent infection. Use a brand-new tube of mascara when you resume wear.

Lip Cosmetic Tattoo

YES, if you have any history of cold sores (fever blisters), you must take a doctor-prescribed antiviral medication (e.g., Valtrex) starting 3–5 days before the procedure to prevent an outbreak.

Significant swelling is expected for the first 1–3 days. Swelling peaks soon after the procedure and will gradually reduce. Applying a clean cold pack can help.

For the first few days, you should drink through a straw and eat soft, mild foods (avoiding hot, spicy, salty, or acidic foods) to prevent irritation and pigment disturbance.

After your lip tattoo procedure, hydration is key! Keep your lips constantly moisturized by frequently applying the recommended aftercare ointment; never let your lips dry out. It is crucial that you do not scratch, pick, or peel any flaking or scabbing—allow them to exfoliate naturally. For the first week, avoid hot, spicy, or salty foods, and use a straw for drinking. If you have a history of cold sores, ensure you take your antiviral medication as prescribed. Finally, avoid lip makeup and direct sun exposure for 7 to 10 days.
